Jimmy Fallon is planing to take over Late Night with Conan O'brien on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 12:35 on NBC. But don't worry Conan will be replacing Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Show on June 1, 2009. As for Jay Leno, beginning this fall, he will have a primetime talk show, The Jay Leno Show which will air weeknights at 10 PM (ET/PT) on NBC.
ANYWAYS (got on a rant there about late night swip-swapping) what I wanted to blog about was Jimmy Fallon's web page. He is doing a pretty much daily blog with videos of him preping for becoming the late night host. I really enjoyed Jimmy Fallon on SNL, and I also really enjoyed him being the first guest on the 185 episode of DiggNation

Kate Moross "I am a 22 year old London based creative maestro. Practicing as an Illustrator and Graphic designer but would hate to narrow myself to those fields alone. I also run ISO & Isomorph Records. I have a fascination with three sided shapes, illegible typography, and freeform lettering."

I want a Grapple

A Grapple is an Apple that tastes like a Grape, but its not genetically altered! Grapple is the company in Washington that makes these healthy treats. The secret is that they dip a Fuji apple into a grape concentrate, and the Fuji's thin skin allows for the flavor to soak in. And oh yea its pronounced Grape-L.

Amazing Sticky Tape Sculptures

An artist in Japan has used over 87 miles (140km) of sticky tape to make a series of sculptures. His latest sculpture has taken over 2 years.
Personally I would use a tape that is a little thicker.

The Theremin?

The Theremin is an early electronic musical instrument controlled without contact from the player. It is named after its Russian inventor, Professor Leon Theremin (Father of Electronic music), who patented the device in 1928. There are two antennas on this machine, one is for pitch and the other is for volume. The player controls the sound with his hands. As your right hand gets closer to the antenna the pitch goes up, and as your left hand gets closer to the other antenna the volume gets lower
HERE is a little documentary
In THIS video (at 1:44) Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin rocks out on the Theremin in "Whole lotta love"
My prediction the Theremin will take over the Autotune machine. WATCH OUT FOR KANYE AND T-PAIN GETTING DOWN ON THIS THING

"Insomnia" - The Moscow Coupe Attempt

This is a 5 part video play list of the film Insomnia by The Moscow Coupe Attempt. This mesmerizing film joins old archived footage with the bands melodic ambient music. Once you start watching, you cant stop! It is so interesting. My favorite part is part 4, where the trolley is slowly moving down a street in New York (I think its New York). Just great stuff!

First Motion Picture shown to an audience

Original Title: L'Arrivée d'un Train à la Ciotat
Directors: Auguste and Louis Lumière
Year: 1895

The first public exhibition of motion pictures occurred on 28th December 1895 when August Lumière and Louis Lumière (the Lumière Brothers) exhibited a selection of ten of their single-reel films to a paying audience at a Parisian cafe. 'Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat' is considered to be the first motion picture in modern history (altough more an experiment from the Lumiere-brothers to use their 'invention' of film, it shows a train arriving at a passenger station). Popular legend has it that, when this film was shown, the first-night audience fled the cafe in terror, fearing being run over by the "approaching" train.

Most of the cast were members of the Lumière family and employees from the Lumière factory.
