BLAKROC -- The Black Keys hip-hop extravaganza

http://youtu.be/l4U6Ee8VkgM

This looks like it will be too cool!
I've always thought The Black Keys had hip-hop potential, their beats are so simple but tough.

Also...
The Cool Kids came out with a new album "When Fish Ride Bicycles"

Here is a video off the album called "Summer Jam"

Photos I took for work at Creation 2011

Went to Creation 2011 to take some photos for the city of Enumclaw. The festival is four days and it is the Nation's largest Christian Music Festival. It almost doubles our whole city's population.

New film "The Tree of Life" by Terrence Mallick -- A must see film

I just watched The Tree of Life the other day in the theaters, and I am trying to write a review to get you to go see this film, but honestly I am not really sure where to start.
Here is the trailer
Here is a synopsis
The impressionistic story of a Texas family in the 1950s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith.
The film really tries to cover a lot of ground. A boys struggle with his father, the family life, birth, death, nature, human existence. Lots of depth to this film. That is where I fall short with this review. I really can't tell you what this film is "really" about. I think it is very metaphorical and plucks different chords with different people. When I was watching this movie in the theater the people around me gave a great example of the range of reactions to this film. To the right of me a person fell asleep. To the left, a person was figeting on the edge of his seat quietly saying phrases such as "What?!", "Whoa", "Wow", "Huh?". Then a lady a few seat down completely broke down into tears.
This is the emotional range this film produced. I loved it!
It might not be your cup of tea, but it will definitely will not be a waste of your time. You will be affected by this movie, I just can't tell you how exactly
The acting is great. Great child actors. Sean Penn and Bradd Pit are great of course. The cinematography is amazing! By Emmanuel Lubezki, who filmed Children of Men, Burn After Reading, The New World, Sleepy Hollow, which are all beautiful films! (Children of Men being one of my top 10 favorite movies).
The film was written and directed by Terrence Mallick. If you don't know anything about Terrence Mallick, he is a quality over quantity director. He has only put out 7 films in his directing career. There was a span of 20 years between his film Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line. I admire that in a director. Never forcing art, letting it come naturally with time.

But go see this film

I am kinda bummed I haven't seen any other films by Terrence Mallick. I need to catch up on Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line.

2011 Sasquatch recapitulation

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Sasquatch is over. I had an excellent time with my brother and friends. Sasquatch is incredible. Everyone is friendly, willing to have a good time, it's like a tight little community. I had such a great time meeting new people, listening to music, and relaxing in the campground. It was so good I am still debating if it actually happened or if I officially lost my grip on reality.
My favorite bands of the weekend were Mstrkrft and Foster the People
Mstrkrft was insane. There were several techno bands that played as the festival, Bassnecter, Major Lazer, Dj Anjali & the Incredible Kid, but Mstrkrft took live techno to another level! Everyone was dancing like crazy. It was so much fun to just let loose.
As for Foster the People, they had an amazing set. They are a newer band. My brother told me about them on the drive to the concert and I haven't stopped listening to them since. They only have one cd, but they might be my new favorite band. My brother and I got really close to the stage and rocked out! The band was on the smallest stage at the festival but they packed it! There were people getting on top of the food vendors roof to see the show. It was awesome. Check out the video below. It is my favorite song of theirs.

I am sore everywhere, I am sick, I am a little pink from the sun, and I am physically and mentally drained (as you can tell from the photo above). I think that means I had a great time

Makeyourownjeans.com - Got a pair of custom hand made jeans for $41

I've always had freakish dimensions and had to struggle with clothes that fit me. I always thought that tailored clothes would be expensive. But that has changed. I picked the type of jeans, gave them my dimensions, and 20 days later I got my perfect fitting jeans. Just got my pair in the mail today and I don't have to put on a belt! I'm running them through the washer right now so hopefully they don't shrink too much. This is cool. I am satisfied with makeyourownjeans.com.
They also have custom tailored jackets, shirts, and more. $120 for a custom made Pure Napa Sheep Skin Soft leather jacket with 34 different leather colors and 7 different lining options. What?!?! I am going to put that on my wish list for sure.

Welcome to Enumclaw logo -- Whatcha think?

I'm creating a local tv program in Enumclaw. I created this logo for the show.
I like the name because it can be abbreviated to W.E. which means a group of people or a community. The host of the show can introduce a segment with the abbreviation, for example "W.E. are here at The Lee restaurant...". With the show I want to support everything local and give it a nice hometown feel.
I think the title works, the style works, and the abbreviation works.
What do you think?

Leann Grimes -- Instrumental/good vibes/wake up and enjoy your day type o' mixtape

"This album was inspired by music blogs.
And it was made to show my appreciation for them.
Each track on the record features a sample of an indie band I have found specifically on a music blog in the recent past. The tracks are humble arrangements of bands that I really enjoy and it's my hope that people that enjoy this album will seek out the bands I've sampled and support them as well."
Sample breakdown
1. "Cats & Dogs"
and "Coeur D'alene", by The Head and the Heart
2. "Egyptain Robe", by Miniature Tigers
3. "Memory Boy", by Deerhunter
4. "Got To Move", by CAKE
5. "Under Cover Of Darkness", by The Strokes
6. "Shadow People", by Dr. Dog
7. "Mrs. Cold", by Kings Of Convenience
