2011 Oscar Picks -- Some tough choices this year

My good friend and I always have a nice faceoff every year over the Oscars.
My picks are in black, and his are in yellow.
Here are my picks:

Live Action Short Film: The Confession (didn't see it, just a guess)
Foreign Language Film: Outside the Law (Hors-la-loi) (didn't see it, just a guess)
Makeup: The Wolfman (didn't see it, just a guess)
Documentary Feature: Exit through the Gift Shop
Documentary Short Strangers No More (just a guess, didn't see it)
Art Direction: The King's Speech
Makeup: The Wolfman (didn't see it, just a guess)
Original Score: Inception. My man Hans Zimmer!!
Animated Short Film: Day & Night
Film Editing: The Social Network
Costume Design: The King's Speech
Cinematography: Black Swan
Sound Editing: Inception
Sound Mixing: Inception
Visual Effects: Inception
Animated Feature: Toy Story 3
Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network
Original Screenplay: The Fighter
Directing: The Social Network
Leading Actor: Colin Firth in "The Kind's Speech"
Supporting Actor: Christian Bale in "The Fighter"
Leading Actress: Natalie Portman in "Black Swan"
Supporting Actress: Hailee Steinfeld in "True Grit"
Best Picture: The Social Network

We have some $ on it, so we take this very seriously. I had a hard time choosing winners this year. I was torn on many of the categories. I'm a little bummed that I didn't get to see all the best picture nominations, missed 127 hours, The Kids Are All Right, and Winters Bone.
But I'm rootin for Social Network.
Lets see how this year pans out.

New computer build -- Now I can edit!!!

Currently I am trying to produce a TV show in my hometown and I've been getting everything ready to put a pilot episode together. The show is basically like a Evening Magazine/Dirty Jobs/ where we go around and interview local businesses, organizations, and community members to hopefully spark some local patronage and let people know about the great things going on in their own backyard. I've already shot an interview for the show but have not been able to edit it because my computer farts when it tries to play HD files. So I decided to drop some dough for my new venture and do some serious upgrading.
Here are the specs on the new machine:
Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz processor
Gigabyte P67A motherboard
GSKILL 8GB of ram
WD 1TB hard drive
MSI R5570 videocard
Antec 500wat power supply
Asus 24x DVD burner
Zalman Z7 plus case
(I feel like Wooderson out of Dazed and Confused, spittin' specs)

Pics of the build below.
If you can tell those are not my hands. That's my good friend Scott. I really have to give him a huge thanks. He taught me everything I needed to know about building a computer, told me what parts to get, showed me how to assemble it, and even sold me parts that he bought online for cheap and sold them to me for the same price. Really nice guy, very thankful for his help. He is my computer sensei.
